Background.
A survivor of Zanado's Red Canyon Massacre and the youngest child of Sothis, the progenitor goddess. Rhea has been deeply formed by these events of her adolescence and due to having recreated Fódlan's history in an attempt to thwart its tendency bloodshed has had little time to grow or come to terms with their horror.
Personality
>Rhea, the “human” archbishop, has held her position for some time now - around one hundred years as she is believed to be of the Seiros bloodline and blessed with longevity; she is known to be stern but kind, and many think of her as the guiding hand of the goddess herself.
The truth of this is far more complicated as, despite her age, Rhea is still very inexperienced in many ways, particularly when it comes to social interaction outside her station as a cleric. Her main mission at Garreg Mach will always be to find a way to revive the goddess but she also sees the humans there as part of her flock and from the little details we get about her relationships with knights Jeralt and Catherine, and the simple fact she admits being archbishop is lonely in her teatime talk, makes it clear that as foolish and ignorant as she thinks humans are she also cannot help but want to find companionship in them.
Still, Rhea’s esteemed position is invaluable to her as a form of protection. Nothing, no heresies, no small skirmishes outside Garreg Mach’s boundaries, is more important to her than promoting the worship of Sothis and finally seeing her mother again.
Rhea keeps Fodlan in stasis through outlawing technology such as gunpowder and anatomical models, and as such in her time as archbishop (in each variation) she remains in a sort of stasis herself. And yet this is not entirely true; we know that she truly grew to love her twelfth creation Sitri, enough so to encourage her to live her own life and marry. She relies upon her brother Seteth - the one other Nabatean who has not abandoned the human world - and thus despite their conflicting views accepts his daughter into the monastery with great joy. She has also saved many a human under her using her advanced healing magic, and despite her unrelenting desire to revive the goddess is willing to sacrifice herself for the people of Garreg Mach; the new home, where she as “Rhea” exists but which her whole self has never truly learned to accept.
